Biography-COSMIC DEALER
Five musicians formed a band in Dordrecht in1968, called The Floating Fudge Featuring The Cosmic Dealer. The member were: Angelo Santoro (bass guitar), Ad Vos (drums), Frans Poots (vocals, flute, sax), Bas van der Pol (vocals, guitar, ex-Hawks) and Jan Reynders (vocals, guitar, ex-Hawks).
In 1970 they changed their name to Cosmic Dealer. In 1971 they released two singles, The scene/Child of the golden sun and Head in the clouds/Find your way on Negram. Both singles weren't a big success.
The two singles were followed by the release of Cosmic Dealer's debut album, Crystallization. The music is a mixture of psychedelic and progressive music, completed with some hardrock. The album was produced by Eddy Ouwens. The band toured regularly and did a performance in a TV show, but the album didn't sell well. The same year Bas van der Pol left the band and was replaced by Leen Leendertse and also did Angelo Santoro leave the band. Cosmic Dealer struggles along, but a year later it is decided to stop.
In 1973 the band is reformed. This time Frans Poots is replaced by Ed Boender. Leen Leendertse was also no longer a member of the band, but Angelo Santoro has returned. There is also a new vocalist, Kees de Blois. With these members the group started to work on new material and recorded a few demos. But it lasted not for long, because in de spring of 1973 the band has already split up again, and this time for ever.

Santoro’s 8 - Fonos New Talent CD van ex-Cosmic Dealer bassist
Angelo Noce Santoro was de bassist van Cosmic Dealer, die begin jaren ’70 de legendarische psychedelische nederpop langspeler Crystallization afleverden. Op de verzamel-cd VPRO Nederpop 1968-1975, te koop via deze site, staat het nummer Winterwind (we’ll be walking) van deze band uit Dordrecht.
Santoro heeft niet stilgezeten want hij heeft tussen 1979 en 1995 zo’n 160 instrumentale nummers geschreven, waarvan er inmiddels al heel wat op LP en CD zijn verschenen. Santoro ‘8’ bestaat uit 19 nummers opgenomen tussen 1985 en 1995 die niet eerder zijn uitgebracht. Het zijn sfeervolle instrumentale nummers waarbij hij grotendeels alle partijen voor zijn rekening neemt. De sfeer binnen de nummers is een beetje sixties, licht psychedelisch, dan weer bluesy en dat alles overgoten met een vleug surfsound.
Deze cd met ruim 73 minuten muziek is nu hier te koop voor maar € 9,95.

The Oriëntal Guitars incl. Angelo Santoro The band was formed around guitarist Angelo Noce Santoro, who has been making successful records for over 30 years. His unique style over the years resulted in various positive articles in the Dutch and international press. In 1992, session drummer Henk van Zeijst met Santoro. He was immediately charmed by Santoro’s original music. In order to spread Santoro’s music to the public, they searched for other musicians with a common interest, and formed The Oriëntal Guitars: In 1996 the band appeared on the CD “What’s in the Pub” with the track “Oriëntal Guitars”, and received positive reactions from all over the world. Soon people asked for more material and live performances. Playing live for local radio stations, festivals and an enthusiastic radio-dj, accelerated the popularity of the band. The Oriëntal Guitars have launched a whole new style of music, which fascinates the audience right from the start and the Dutch record companies were quick to recognise this. Due to the great success of their live performance on the 2000 Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival in Colne (Lancashire – England), extra concert dates were booked, making it a total of 7 gigs. And back by popular demand, the Oriëntals will play the festival again in 2001 The Oriëntal Guitars, a professional band, going for it !!! ANGELO NOCE SANTORO: leadguitar Santoro played in the legendary Sixties band COSMIC DEALER. Their album has now become a collector’s item, recently valued at over $ 320.= He also played in a Brazilian band: PALMEIRA, whose album is also now a collector’s item. Santoro 3 is opgenomen, gemixt en geproduceerd door Angelo Noce Santoro in de ANS Studio te Zwijndrecht tussen 1979-1981. De bonustracks zijn opgenomen tussen 1985-1987.
De release van de LP Santoro 3 stond gepland in het jaar 1981/1982 maar werd uitgesteld wegens het succes van Santoro’s surfplaat “Land of the Pharao”.
Santoro 3 bevat 15 instrumentale rocknummers, met funk, soul en Latin-invloeden overgoten met een psychedelisch sausje. Net als op zijn andere solo-projecten worden (bijna) alle instrumenten ingespeeld door Santoro zelf en ook de composities zijn van eigen hand. Sfeervolle plaat! Nu dus voor het eerst voor het grote publiek verkrijgbaar via Fonos voor 9,95 euro!

Angelo Noce Santoro is voormalig bassist van de Dordtse band Cosmic Dealer (ook te horen op de Fonos/VPRO CD Nederpop 1968-1975) en één van de oprichters van Palmeira. Hij speelt nu in de band Oriental Guitars. Noce Santoro heeft tot nu toe zeven solo albums uitgebracht met instrumentale gitaarmuzieken is verder te horen op totaal zo’n 25 LP’s, CD’s en singles. Very thick, metal inspired, soaring, effected swirling, rhythmic and heavy. This is very attractive in it's wall of textures sound and power. Angelo Santoro has issued a number of very cool off the beaten path recordings of classic instros. I first discovered Angelo Santoro a decade ago at Dedicated Record Collector, the now defunct coolest store in San Jose.
